Youth
Animobo's name is Michael Eriksson, from Norrköping (Sweden, south Stockholm).
Young, he's passioned by music.
His love for it appears through his first piano lessons.
Then, this passion trains him to realise studies always higher.
The composer
It's about ten, when Michael discovers electronic music, and
its capabilities.
"
I became fascinated by the sounds in music
by Depeche Mode and Kraftwerk, and soon
the great works of retro-futuristic pioneers
such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Vangelis and
Swedish electronic composer
Ralph Lundsten,
all fundamental influences for my music to come
".
He starts playing electronic music at 14, whith his first real synthesizer:
We can already see the artist. At this moment, he starts learning
fundamentals of electroacoustic sound and sequencer-programming.
His music
In 1995, he explores the real world and its real instruments
discovering the expressions of the symphonic orchestra.
He like playing classical music such as J. S. Bach, W. A. Mozart et Claude Debussy,
of who he will inspire.
The motives of music and its frontiers were issues that started to interest me
more and more in 1997. I set out to investigate the zone and border between
sound and music, which resulted in a couple of compositions I named "sound-
poems". The first of them was called "Angelica and the winter" and tells the
story of a woman whose bewilderment in losing her faith turns into showing
her the real values of life.
His children
Nocturnes (1999) : "The nocturnal melodies begin within the dreams of the ethereal mind..."
Solitudes (2001): "Wherever I searched, I heard the echoes from my heart - the
sound of solitude..."
